Imagine Design Create DT post - Live life in colour

Hi everyone it’s time for me to share another Imagine Design Create DT project with you for my latest blog post.  I have used the Colour Splash A7 stamp set, and kept this card very clean and simple with just a splash of colour.

What you need

What to do  –
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank and white card slightly smaller than this.
  • Stamp colour splashes in various Distress Inks over a central masked panel of the card.
  • Cut another piece of white card the same length as this and approximately 2” wide, use Versafine to stamp a sentiment towards the right side, and mat this onto some black card.  Use foam pads to attach this over the middle of the card so you just see a little of the colour splashes.  Add 3 black gems beside the sentiment.

If you have any questions or comments then please do get in touch as I'd love to hear from you.  If you're looking for some more inspiration then head on over to the Imagine Design Create blog and see what my team mates have been up to.

Until next week, happy crafting!

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Distress Oxide Love

Hi everyone, it's time for my weekly blog spot on Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty showing my latest Bee Crafty DT project.  This week I got my Distress Oxides out again - they leave a lovely chalky look to your finished project, but it doesn't rub off on your fingers!

What you will need to make this card -
What to do -
  • Cut 2 squares of white card, one slightly smaller than the card blank, and the other slightly smaller again.  Take the larger of the two, and blend Faded Jeans Distress Oxide around the edges, then glue to the card blank.
  • Take the other square of white card, and using Faded Jeans Distress Oxide, randomly stamp the retro dash & dots stamps over it.  Mat this to the card blank.
  • Apply some lines of Distress Oxide to your blending mat (all 3 colours), and spritz liberally with water until you see bubbles appearing and the ink brightening - this is it reacting with the water.  Take another square of white card and dab it in to the mixture.  Dry with a heat tool, occasionally flicking water droplets, and repeat until you are happy with the finished look.
  • When dry, take the heart Inkables and draw lightly round it in pencil.  Cut out.
  • Ink up the Love WORDage using Faded Jeans Distress Oxide, and stamp in the centre of the heart.  Use foam pads to attach to the centre of the card blank.
That's it until next week, as always if you have any comments then please do let me know... I love to hear from you :-)

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Dylusions Flower Heart

Hi bloggers, it's Monday so that means it's time for me to share a new Bee Crafty DT project with you all on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog... and this week I have got my Dylusions out again!  I wanted this weeks project to be bright and fun... and I think this fits the bill.  I also wanted to show how versatile these fabulous stamps are, and so I've used the medium Style Wire Heart to make a flower.

What you will need -
What you need to do -
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white smaller than this - and using a wet wipe blend some Tangerine Dream around the edges of the white card.  Mat this on to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • Cut another square of black card smaller than the orange edged square, and a piece of white smaller again.  Using a wet wipe blend some Bubblegum Pink all over the white square of card. When dry (which takes no time at all) randomly blend Black marble through the feather template.  Mat this on to the black card, wrap some ribbon around the left hand side and glue to the card blank.
  • On a spare piece of white card, blend Tangerine Dream over the entire piece, then use Versafine ink to stamp out 5 hearts - cut these out and use 3D glue to attach these to the card in a flower shape.  Finish off by adding a black button in the centre of the flower.
I quite enjoyed using my Dylusions again and think I might just leave them out on my desk so I can play with them again.  I'll be back next week with another project.

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Hello You

Hi everyone, it's Bee Crafty time again, and my turn to share a project on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog.... for this week's project I wanted to make a CAS card.  I've only used 2 stamps, and 2 Distress Oxide colours along with black Versafine ink.  This was a really quick little card to make, and a perfect card just to say you're thinking of someone.

What you will need -
What to do -
  • Cut 2" off the card blank to get a 6" x 4" tent fold card.
  • Cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the white card and use the Oxides to stamp 'Hello You' down the left hand side, alternating the colour each time.  Mat this onto the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • On spare white card, stamp the large butterfly using Versafine, and add some colour using the Oxides and a water brush.  Add some glue to the body of the butterfly only, and attach to the card - this leaves the wings free to be raised off the page a little to add some dimension to the card.
That's another project completed, I hope you liked my CAS card, an as always if you have any comments please do get in touch.

Until next time, happy crafting!

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Warming Words

Hi everyone, well I'm back to share my last blog post for this August For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory launch, for my samples this time I have used the Warming Words stamp and mask set... these verses are fabulous and exactly what you will need both for the front of your cards and also for inside too!  The mask is stunning, and as you can see from my first card below, the words on it are perfectly festive.

What you'll need -

This is a 7" x 7" white card blank.  I cut some squares of white card smaller than the card blank, and each smaller than the first.  I took the largest square and blended some Faded Jeans around the edges, I matted the next sized white square to this, and glued both to the card blank.  I pressed some Distress Oxides on to my blending mat, spritzed with water and dragged the smallest square through this, drying with my heat tool, and repeating until I achieved the look I wanted.  I then placed the mask over this and blended the distress oxides through it, and finished by blending Vintage Photo around the edges.  I attached some ribbon around the left hand side, and added a bow and some hat pins with hot glue, then used foam pads to attach this to the card blank.  I stamped my sentiment using Vintage Photo, cut out using an oval die and attached to the card using foam pads.  I finished off by adding some Stickles around the edge of the oval.

This is a 7" x 7" white card blank.  I cut some silver mirri card slightly smaller than the card blank, and some green dotty paper slightly smaller again - I matted the dotty paper to the mirri, tied some ribbon around the left side, and glued both to the card blank.  I then cut a smaller rectangle of red spotty paper, matted this on to a larger piece of mirri card and glued to the centre of the card.  On a small square of white card I used Versafine ink to stamp the gingerbread house, coloured using my Kuretake pens (072, 022, 045, 065) and glued to the red spotty paper panel.  I finished off by adding a sentiment and some pearls.

I hope you love the new stamp sets as much as me, and if you managed to get some that you have fun creating some fabulous Christmas projects.  Until the next FTLS launch, happy crafting!

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - A Cosy Christmas

Hi bloggers, I'm back with my third blog sharing my DT samples for the August launch of stamps from For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory.  These samples were made using the Cosy Christmas set of stamps, and I think these images show the traditional side of Christmas with the roaring fire and presents.

What you'll need -

I created a box frame card using some white card.  I decorated it using some blue spotty paper from the paper pad, and added some stamped elements.  I used my Kuretake pens (071, 091, 051, 070, 065, 022, 042, 031, 036, 047, 061) to add some colour.  I finished by adding a sentiment, and some Stickles to the flames to give some sparkle.

This is a 7" x 7" white card blank.  I cut squares of black and white card smaller than the card blank, and each smaller than the first.  The largest white square was matted on to the largest black square and glued to the card blank.  I took the smallest white square and used a heart mask to allow me to stamp some images using Versafine ink.  When I removed the mask I was left with a nice heart which I then added some faux stitching to using a black pen.  I added some colour using my Kuretake pens, added some Glossy Accents to the light bulbs, and added a red bow to the top.  I finished off by adding a sentiment to the bottom corner, and some pearls to the top corner.  I matted this on to the other black square, and used foam pads to attach to the card blank.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my cards using this fab set of stamps, if you have any questions then please do get in touch.

For The Love Of Stamps DT Samples - Gingerbread Fun

Hi, I'm back to share my second blog showing the new stamp releases from For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory... these cards were made using the Gingerbread Fun set of stamps and he is soooo cute!  As soon as I seen this little guy I thought he'd look cool as if he was taking a selfie... so out came one of FTLS previous stamp sets Say Cheese!

What you'll need -

This is a 6" x 4" card blank,  I cut some black card slightly smaller than the blank, and red spotty paper slightly smaller again, and glued both to the card blank.  On white card I stamped 3 photo frames using Versafine ink, and masked each off first before stamping the gingerbread man in various poses and with various features.  I stamped a different sentiment at the bottom of each, and added some colour using my Caramel Promarker.  I cut out each frame and attached to the card at an angle.  I finished by adding a bow tie to each man, and a few pearls.

For this card I created a centre swing card out of an A4 sheet of white card.  I added some stripey paper to each of the panels, and adding a circle mirri mat to the centre.  I stamped the gingerbread man using Versafine ink, coloured him in using my Promarker and Kuretake pens, and cut him out and glued him to the circle.  I finished by adding some stamped elements, and a sentiment.

This is a 7" x 7" white card blank.  I cut a square of black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and a white square slightly smaller again,  I used masking tape to mask off a panel on the white square and stamped various images using Versafine ink.  I used my Kuretake pens (022, 024, 040, 064, 065) to add some colour, and some glossy accents to the lollipops - when dry I matted this to the black card and glued both to the card blank.  I stamped 2 gingerbread men, coloured in using my promarker, cut out and attached both to the front of the card.  I finished by adding a sentiment in the top right corner.

That's my samples complete using this stamp set, I'll be back shortly to share the next stamp set with you all and to show you what I decided to make with it.

For The Love Of Stamps DT samples - Pretty Poinsettia

Hi everyone, well after a wee month break For The Love Of Stamps by Hunkydory are back this month with their new launch.... and it's Christmas!!!!  I was so excited to get these stamps to play with, I absolutely love Christmas, it's my most favourite time of year (like I've not told people that lots of times already ;-)) and making these samples has got me all festive.  For my first blog post I'm sharing with you the samples I made using the gorgeous Pretty Poinsettia stamp set.

What you'll need -

This is a 6" x 6" white card blank.  I cut gold mirri card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller than this.  On spare white card I used Versafine ink to stamp 2 large poinsettias, 3 small poinsettias and 3 leaves.  I used my Kuretake Zig pens (022, 040, 051) to add some colour then cut them out, I only cut the centre out of the 2nd poinsettia as I wanted to use this to decoupage up the other one.  I cut a strip of white card, stamped the sentiment using Versafine, and matted this on to a strip of gold mirri card, and glued this to the centre of the card blank.  I glued the stamped flowers to the card, and finished by adding some red pearls.

This is a 6" x 6" white card blank.  I cut some gold mirri card slightly smaller than the card blank, and some white card slightly smaller than this.  I used Versamark ink to stamp the leaf stamp all over the white square of card, added some gold embossing powder and heat set.  I tied a strip of white organza ribbon around the left hand side before matting this on to the gold mirri card, then glued both to the card blank.  I heat embossed 2 large poinsettias and 2 leaves on to white card using gold powder, coloured in using my Kuretake Zig pens (022, 047), then cut out (again only cutting out the centre part of one of the poinsettias to use to decoupage up the other) and used glue to attach to a mirri mat circle.  I used foam pads to attach this to the card blank, and finished off by adding some white pearls to the centre of the poinsettia and a small sentiment.

This is a 5" x 5" white card blank.  I cut silver mirri card slightly smaller than the card blank, and 2 squares of white card slightly smaller again.  I took one of the white squares and used Versafine ink to randomly stamp small poinsettias over the entire square, then added some colour using my Kuretake Zig pens (022, 051).  I then cut a circle aperture in the centre, placed this card over the other white square of card and lightly drew around the circle aperture using a pencil.  I stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink inside this circle, then erased the pencil line.  I tied a strip of white organza ribbon around the left hand side , then used foam pads to attach this card to the card with the sentiment.  This was matted on to the mirri card, and glued to the card blank, and I finished by adding some pearls.

This is a 7" x 5" white card blank.  I cut some silver mirri card slightly smaller than the card blank, and some white card slightly smaller again.  I used Versafine ink to randomly stamp small poinsettias over the white card, matted this on to the mirri card and glued to the card blank.  I cut a strip of white card, matted this on to silver mirri card, stamped a sentiment and used foam pads to attach to the card.  On spare white card I used Versafine ink to stamp 2 large poinsettias and 3 leaves, added some colour with my Kuretake Zig pens (024, 041, 067), and cut out.  I glued a poinsettia to the card, cut out a section of the other one and used it to decoupage.

That's my samples complete using this stamp set, I hope you like what I've created.  I'll be back soon showing my next set of samples for this launch.

Daring Cardmakers - August Guest Designer

Hello bloggers, I got a lovely surprise recently when I was asked if I would like to be the August guest designer for the Daring Cardmakers challenge!  Of course I immediately said yes, and this week is my first time taking part.  The theme this week was set by Miri, and as it's the first Friday of the month it's 'Elemental Inspiration'... we had to choose 3 items from a picture and incorporate them into our own design.  The photo below shows the card I designed...

What you need to make the card -
  • 7"x7" white card blank
  • Black & white card
  • Flamingo Fun stamp set by Imagine Design Create
  • Distress Inks (Chipped Sapphire & Salty Ocean)
  • Onyx Black Versafine ink
  • Kuretake Zig Clear Colour Pens (025, 050)
  • Masking tape
  • Blue gems
  • Foam pads & glue
What you need to do -
  • Cut a square of black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and a white square slightly smaller again.
  • Take the white square and use masking tape to mask off a panel.
  • Use a blending tool to blend some Salty Ocean DI at the top of the panel, and Chipped Sapphire DI at the bottom - blend well using Salty Ocean in the middle section to achieve an even blend.
  • Keeping the masking tape in place, use Versafine ink to stamp various flowers from the stamp set in the inky panel.  Carefully remove the tape when finished.
  • On spare white card use Versafine to stamp a sentiment, and the flamingo.  Colour in the flamingo using the pens and a water brush.  Carefully cut him out, and use foam pads to attach him to the card.
  • Finish off by adding the sentiment and some gems.
I really enjoyed taking part in this weeks challenge...why not have a go yourself!   Please pop over to the Daring Cardmakers blog to see what everyone else designed.  I'll be back next Friday sharing what I have made for the next challenge.... best get my thinking cap on!

Monday Bee Crafty DT Post - Sam's Hochanda shows

Hi everyone, for my Bee Crafty blog post this week over at Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty I'm sharing the samples I made for Sam's recent shows on Hochanda.

What you need -

I cut an 8" x 8" card blank down to 6" x 6.5".  I cut black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller again.  I applied some Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers & Chipped Sapphire directly to my acrylic block, spritzed some water over this and pressed this on to the centre of the white card, leaving in place for around 5 minutes to let the colour deepen.  I removed the block, and dried with my heat tool, before stamping the pocket watch using Versafine ink.  I matted this on to the black card and glued both to the card blank.  I stamped the sentiment using Versafine ink on white card, and cut down in to 2 parts, attaching these to the card using foam pads.

I cut some white card slightly smaller than an 8" x 8" card blank.  I took my Distress Oxides (Fired Brick, Fossilized Amber, Vintage Photo) and applied them directly on to my blending mat, spritzed with water, then dragged the square of white card through.  I heat set each layer, then repeated, occasionally flicking water droplets to enhance the oxidized effect.  I have stamped the pocket watch randomly over the card in both Vintage Photo and Fossilized Amber, then glued this directly to the card blank.  I stamped the sentiment using Vintage Photo Distress Oxide, and again cut the stamped image into 2 parts, then used foam pads to attach to the card.

This is a 6" x 6" card blank.  I cut a piece of white card slightly smaller than the card blank, and another piece of white card slightly smaller again.  I took the larger piece of card and blended some Hickory Smoke Distress ink around the edges and glued this to the card blank.  On the smaller square of card I masked off a panel, blended some Hickory Smoke down it, and flicked some water droplets before drying with my heat tool.  I stamped various cogs etc using Hickory Smoke, and also the sentiment.  I glued this to the card blank, added the sentiment using foam pads, and finished by adding a few gems and some Stickles.

The effect achieved using Star Dust Stickles.

A 7" x 5" white card blank.  I started by cutting black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and white card slightly smaller than this.  On the white card I stamped the pocket watch using Versafine ink, masked it off then used Fired Brick Distress Oxide to stamps cogs at either side of it.  I then stamped only the word 'Time' off the sentiment at the top and bottom of the card again using Fired Brick.  I matted this layer on to the black using glue, then attached both to the card blank using foam pads.

This is a 8" x 8" white card and I cut black card approximately 7.5" x 7.5", and white card slightly smaller than this.  On the white card I stamped the pocket watches using Versafine ink - starting with the one on the left then masking it off before stamping the next, and repeating this until the 3 were stamped.  I then cut a strip of white card the same length as the white square but about 1" wide, and using Versafine ink stamped only the words 'Time Flies' from the sentiment.  I matted this on to a strip of black card slightly larger then attached to the card using foam pads.  I finished off by stamping various cogs etc using Versafine ink, cut them out, and used gold gilding wax to add some shine around the edges before gluing to the sentiment banner.

Showing the effect the gilding wax gives.

That's it for this week, be back next week to share some another DT project with you all.

Happy Crafting!

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Christmas samples for Hochanda

Hi everyone, I'm sharing the samples I made for Bev's recent Bee Crafty show on Hochanda ... and I was so excited to get my parcel as it was Christmas stamps!  Now anyone who knows me will tell you that my most favourite time of the year is Christmas, so to get lovely new stamps to play with in July is just the best thing ever for me.  I was planning on putting some Christmas tunes on to accompany my crafting...but thought it might just get my 2 wee boys a little too excited for Santa coming!

This is an MDF portrait artboard covered with Moonstone Lustre Luxe, then I heat embossed some Spikey snowflakes with Blue Glitz and Metallic Silver Sparkle WOW powders.  I finished off by tying some white organza ribbon around the left hand side and adding a silver metal snowflake, and adding a sentiment.

This is a 6" x 6" card - I created a panel by masking off a section and blending some Lucky Clover Distress Ink over the card.  I used Onyx Black Versafine ink to stamp the Holly Swirl border stamp over this panel, then I matted this onto some black card. I finished off by adding a stamped sentiment and some green gems.

This is a 6" x 6" card - I heat embossed Feathery snowflakes all over the left hand side using Red Glitz WOW embossing powder, and matted this on to some red card, then glued to the card blank.  I finished off by adding a sentiment from the Everyday Christmas Sentiments stamp set, and some red gems to the upper corner, and to the centre of all the snowflakes.

This is a 7" x 7" card - I created a background using Distress Oxides (Faded Jeans & Broken China), and then stamped the Snowflake Flurry stamp in Faded Jeans randomly over the card.  I matted this on to a square of white card, then onto a square of card with edges coloured with Faded Jeans.  I finished off by adding a panel with a stamped sentiment and a clear snowflake.

This is a 8" x 8" card - I randomly stamped the Snowflake Flurry stamp over a square of white card using Distress Inks (Lucky Clover & Candied Apple), I then cut a circle aperture in the bottom right corner, and added some red ribbon and a bow around the left hand side.  I placed this card over a square of card slightly larger, and used a pencil to draw a faint line around the circle so I knew where to stamp the Everyday Christmas sentiment in Onyx Black Versafine ink.  I coloured around the edges of this card with Candied Apple, then added the stamped panel to this using foam pads.  I cut another larger square of white card, and coloured the edges of this with Lucky Clover, and matted the other cards on to the this, then glued all to the card blank.  I finished off by adding some Star Dust Stickles to the snowflakes to give some sparkle.

This is a 6" x 4.25" tent fold card - I used Onyx Black Versafine ink to stamp the Everyday Christmas sentiment down the left hand side of a piece of white card slightly smaller than the card blank, tied some white organza ribbon around the right hand side and matted this on to some gold mirri card before attaching to the card blank.  I heat embossed 2 MDF snowflakes with Metallic Gold WOW embossing powder, and glued these to the bottom right corner.

I really enjoyed making these samples, and I hope you've enjoyed seeing them, if you have any comments then please do get in touch.  Remember to pop over to the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog too to see lots more inspiration from the Design Team. I'll be back again next week to share a new project with you all.

Monday Bee Crafty DT post - Distress Oxide Memories

Hi bloggers, I'm sharing a new post on the Buzzy Goings on at Bee Crafty blog today showing my Bee Crafty DT project for this week.  I have got the Distress Oxides out again this week, and decided to make the card below.

What you will need to make this card -
What to do -

  • Cut 2" off the card blank to make a tent fold card.
  • Cut some black card slightly smaller than the card blank, and some white card slightly smaller again.
  • Take the white card, and blend Distress Oxides on it, place the heart template over the centre of the card and blend some Faded Jeans through it.  Next place the oval lace template randomly over the card, and spritz water through it.  Leave for a few seconds then blot with paper towel.
  • Use Versafine ink to stamp the dot border along the top and bottom of the card, and to stamp the sentiment in the centre of the heart.
  • Mat this on to the black card, and glue to the card blank.
  • Finish off by using a white gel pen to draw some fake stitching inside the heart, and inside some of the oval lace template sections.
I'll be back next week to share another DT project with you, until then Happy Crafting!

Imagine Design Create DT Post - Mini Paw Prints Flower

Hi everyone, for my post on the Imagine Design Create blog this week, I decided to try something different using the Mini Paw Prints stamp set by Imagine Design Create, and thought I’d try to make a flower out of the hearts - it just shows how versatile these stamps are!  This is a really quick little card to make, and is very straightforward.

What you will need -
What to do -

  • Take the mat layer, and using the Versacraft inks, randomly stamp Woof & paw prints over it.  Glue this to the card blank.
  • On separate white card, use Apricot Versacraft to stamp 5 hearts.  When dry, cut out and arrange in a flower shape, and adhere with 3D glue gel to the centre of the card.
  • Finish off by adding a button in the centre of the flower.

That's it for this week bloggers, I'll be back soon with another project to share with you all.

Until then, Happy Crafting!

Imagine Design Create DT Post - Z Fold Retro Gamer

Hi everyone, I'm back with another post for the Imagine Design Create blog, and for this week's DT project I decided to make a Z Fold card - I absolutely love this style of card fold, and it worked really well with this stamp set.

What you will need -

 What to do -
  • Take the card blank, and score the front panel in half, then open out fully and cut a 1.5” strip off the long side.
  • Cut 2 panels of white card slightly smaller than the card blank (inner panel and front panel), and using a blending tool, blend Distress Inks all over both.  Flick some water droplets over the blending and dab with paper towel.  Stamp various images, using both inks, on to the panels, then glue to the card blank.
  • Take the Z-fold mechanism, use Distress Inks to stamp  Press Start & Game Over, and glue to the card blank.
  • On spare card, stamp the Retro Gamer sentiment in Salty Ocean, and cut out using the circle die.  Blend some Cracked Pistachio around the edges, and glue to the Z-fold mechanism.  Stamp a few aliens using both Distress Inks, and cut out using a small circle die then arrange these around the sentiment.
